Most of the time it takes me awhile to decide on decor.
Not the pieces necessarily, but where they should go and how they should fit into our lives.
Nail holes feel permanent to me.
However, when I spotted this two-foot tall aluminum ampersand, I knew it had to be mine.
(It’s at Hobby Lobby and half off this week!)
It didn’t take me long to figure out where and with what I would place it.
My sister painted these silhouettes of us as a Christmas present over 4 years ago.
They’ve always hung above our bed, and I still wanted them there. The ampersand makes them feel new and fresh.
PS- That wall will soon be white.
Are you quick to decide on decor and placement?
Happy decorating! xoxo
Warning: Most of my upcoming posts will be home decor related, because we are
hopefully closing on a new home in two weeks-ish.
We found the perfect house for our little family. This precious home was built in 1978 and has all the charm we were looking for. The bonus is that it was remodeled within the past year. There are a few minor things we will change (front door, paint colors, some light fixtures), but overall we are completely smitten.
We downsized, thank goodness. However, we didn’t sacrifice the things we loved most about our previous home. It has an open living/dining/kitchen area, a efficient floor plan (no wasted space), loads of built-ins, and an amazing yard. I’ve been up at night arranging and rearranging our furniture in the new space… in my head.
I’m too excited to sleep.
One of the spaces I’ve been planning out is the entry from the garage. It is a spacious laundry room with a door to the backyard. Naturally, I want to turn it into a mudroom as well.
There is a perfectly open wall… just right for vintage lockers. Perfect for creating a laundry/mudroom. Right? Right.
The problem? Lockers are going for hundreds of dollars, man. I’m now on the constant hunt for a set of cheap lockers. Let me know if you find any!
I will certainly share this decor journey as we go. Moving in count down: 12 days. Eek!
Happy hunting! xoxo
